Last pieces on 2014!!!
Let’s wrap it up, finishing the pieces that I made this year. Not so many do to our last move. Now I am in Portland, OR. And due to lack of wheel, kiln, proper set up studio, or anything.. I have been doing hand building coil work.
Here some Oregon inspiration, there are so many wild animals around here that I add squirrels and other animals to my armadillo collection.
Here you can see most of the pieces getting dry. I never worked so much with coils before and I rushed to the place they were going to fire them, and some of them cracked. I hope next time with extra time for drying and more compressing of the coils they will be fine.
Here you can see a taller coil pot, this will be part of my “love series” that I started when I was living in Malaysia wit a number of plates and cups painted with love quotes and poems.
On the glazing process I’m so glad to have a so well stocked ceramic store near by, I spend like 3 hours picking my colors and studying the mixes I could do.
And finally my last protect. When I started to do ceramics at Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, I was doing really good on orders I received from so many mothers that trusted me to do the set for their kids to eat.
Now I will start again with kids plates but using my animals inspiration.
I hope you like it!!
